Resorts and Hotels in Kushalnagar, Coorg
Kushalnagar sits about 30–35 km from Madikeri, on flatter ground along the Cauvery, and it’s where most of Coorg’s resort-style accommodation is actually concentrated — pools, spas, backwater cottages, and budget stays all sit within a few kilometres of the town centre and of each other.
It’s also the most practical base for a handful of Coorg’s better sights: Bylakuppe’s Namdroling Monastery, Harangi Dam and the backwaters behind it, and Dubare Elephant Camp are all closer to Kushalnagar than to Madikeri.

The three Altitude properties here, and how they differ
Three of Altitude’s five properties sit in and around Kushalnagar, and each is built for a different kind of stay:

Parampara Resort & Spa
Parampara Resort & Spa, in Kudige, roughly 15 minutes from town, is the pool-and-spa option — outdoor swimming pool, spa, multi-cuisine dining. This is the pick if a resort with full facilities is the priority.

Coorg Jungle Camp Backwater Resort
Coorg Jungle Camp Backwater Resort, in Herur, sits on the Harangi backwaters — cottages, a pool, bonfire evenings, fishing and coffee plantation walks. This is the pick for a nature-and-water stay rather than a spa stay.

Parampara Residency
Parampara Residency, centrally located in Kushalnagar town, is the budget option — a straightforward hotel near Bylakuppe, Harangi Dam and NH-275, with 24-hour front desk and free parking, built for travellers who want a central, affordable base rather than resort facilities.
None of these compete directly with each other — a spa trip, a backwater trip and a budget in-and-out stay are different plans, and the honest answer to “which is best” depends entirely on which of those three you’re actually booking.
Comparing on the details that matter
- Looking for a pool? Parampara Resort & Spa and Coorg Jungle Camp both have one; Parampara Residency does not.
- Looking for spa treatments? Parampara Resort & Spa is the only one of the three with a spa on site.
- Looking for a backwater or nature setting? Coorg Jungle Camp, on the Harangi backwaters, is the clearest fit.
- Travelling on a tighter budget, or just need a central base for a night? Parampara Residency, centrally located with free parking, is built for exactly that.
- Travelling with family? Parampara Resort & Spa’s pool and dining setup and Coorg Jungle Camp’s cottages and outdoor activities both suit families; Coorg Jungle Camp’s bonfire and fishing options tend to work well for children in particular.
- Travelling as a couple wanting quiet? Coorg Jungle Camp’s backwater setting is the more secluded of the three.
What’s nearby
Namdroling Monastery at Bylakuppe, one of the largest Tibetan settlements outside Tibet, is a short drive from central Kushalnagar. Harangi Dam and the backwaters behind it sit close to Herur, near Coorg Jungle Camp. Dubare Elephant Camp, on the banks of the Cauvery, is also within reach of a Kushalnagar base. Madikeri itself is a 30–35 minute drive, making it comfortably a day trip rather than requiring a separate stay.
